Biography
Joshua Allen is a television writer and producer. His early credit was as writer of the episode 'Burden of Truth' for the 2013 CBS series Hostages.
He contributed multiple episodes to Empire (2015–2019) as writer, story editor, and later producer roles. Subsequent credits include writing and producing on The Morning Show (2019–), teleplays for From Scratch (2022), and writing and executive producing on In Treatment (2021). He is a Writers Guild of America member and has received Primetime Emmy nominations.
Allen, a fourth-generation Chicagoan, has also written stage plays, including a trilogy set during the city’s Red Summer of 1919.
