Biography
Juan Miguel Azpiroz, also credited as Juanmi Azpiroz, is a Spanish cinematographer. He began his career in camera and electrical departments before taking on director of photography roles.
Azpiroz has collaborated extensively with director Joe Carnahan over approximately ten years, serving as cinematographer on eight films together, including Wheelman (2017), Boss Level (2021), Copshop (2021) and The Rip (2026). For The Rip, he designed a colour noir visual style drawing on references such as The Night of the Hunter (1955), employing high contrast, silhouettes and shadow-forward lighting.
His other credits as director of photography include The Way (2010), Point Blank (2019), Xtreme (2021), Awareness (2023) and Shadow Force (2025).
