Biography
Julia Blake is a British-Australian actress. Born in Bristol, England, she trained at the Bristol Old Vic and began her career in British repertory theatre before moving to Australia in 1963.
She has appeared in numerous Australian films and television productions. Early screen roles include Matron Cassidy in Patrick (1978) and Mother in My Brilliant Career (1979). Later credits encompass Innocence (2000), Aquamarine (2006), X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (2010), The Dressmaker (2015) and The Dry (2021). She has also worked extensively in theatre and received several Australian Film Institute award nominations and wins.
Blake was married to actor Terry Norris from 1962 until his death in 2023.
