Biography

Julián Román is a Colombian actor known for work in theatre, film and television. Born Julián Edgardo Román Rey on 23 November 1977 in Bogotá, he is the son of actor Edgardo Román. He began training young through workshops at the Luis Enrique Osorio District School of Theatre and further studies in dramatic arts, space and body expression at Teatro Popular de Bogotá, as well as his father’s laboratory Actuemos. He later earned a master’s degree in dramatic arts from the Universidad de Antioquia in 2019.

Román has appeared in numerous Colombian productions since the late 1980s. Notable television roles include Leonardo Giovanny Reyes in Los Reyes (2005–2006), Erick González in The Mafia Dolls (2009), Nehemías Solipa in Corazones Blindados (2012–2013), Carlos Castaño in Tres Caínes (2013), and José Arcadio Segundo / Aureliano Segundo in the Netflix series One Hundred Years of Solitude (2024). He has also featured in films such as Retratos en un mar de mentiras (2010) and received several India Catalina awards and nominations.
