Biography
Juliette Gréco was a French actress and singer. She appeared as Aglaonice in Jean Cocteau’s Orpheus (1950).
Gréco made her film debut in the late 1940s and went on to roles in films including Elena and Her Men (1956), Bonjour Tristesse (1958) and The Night of the Generals (1967). She was also known for her chanson career in post-war Paris, performing lyrics by writers such as Jean-Paul Sartre, Jacques Prévert and Boris Vian. Her film work included collaborations with directors Jean-Pierre Melville and Jean Renoir.
