Biography
Julio Perillán Gandarias is an American actor of Spanish descent. He was born on 8 September 1973 in Bethesda, Maryland, and holds dual Spanish and US citizenship. The son of Spanish immigrants, he is the third of four children and the only one to pursue a career in acting.
Perillán graduated with a degree in physics from the University of Maryland. After his father's death he moved to Los Angeles to study film and acting. He began his professional career in 1998 with stage roles including Fool for Love and The Masque of Poe. His screen debut came in the independent film Eden's Curve (2003). He later moved to Spain, where he took a lead role in Fragile (2004) and appeared as Charles in Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008).
He has worked in Spanish and international productions, including films such as The Dark Hour (2006) and television series including Elite (2018) and Black Mirror (2011). Perillán divides his time between Madrid, New York and Los Angeles.
