Biography
Juney Smith is an American actor, director, writer and producer. A native New Yorker, he graduated from LIU Brooklyn with a B.F.A., which he attended on an athletic scholarship for basketball. He began his career in theatre and has performed in classic plays, including the roles of Walter Lee in A Raisin in the Sun, Oscar Madison in The Odd Couple and Solly Two Kings in Gem of the Ocean.
On screen, Smith appeared as Phil McPherson in Good Morning, Vietnam (1987) and as Tom Wyler in Lethal Weapon 2 (1989). His other film credits include Friends and Romans (2014), Colewell (2019) and A Different Man (2024). Television work includes episodes of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Blue Bloods, ER, MASH and FBI*. He has also directed more than 100 stage productions and served as artistic director of several theatre companies.
