Biography
Just Betzer was a Danish film producer. Born in Åbyhøj on 11 June 1944, he began his career managing the confectionery stand and working as a relief projectionist at his father's cinema in Aarhus from 1955. In 1960 he founded the production and distribution company Panorama Film in Denmark.
Betzer produced Babette's Feast (1987), directed by Gabriel Axel, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and the BAFTA Award for Best Film Not in the English Language. His other credits include The Misfit Brigade (1987). He later established Panorama Film International in London with offices in Copenhagen and Los Angeles, and founded Just Betzer Films in Los Angeles in 1990.
Betzer died on 6 November 2003 in Lumsaas, Denmark.
