Biography
Kamel Ech-Cheik was a French composer and occasional actor. He was born in Paris on 19 June 1963 and died there on 18 June 2011.
His credited work as composer includes the feature films Mes amis (1999) and OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies (2006), on which he collaborated with Ludovic Bource, as well as several short films such as En attendant (2000), C.D.D. (2000) and Spartacus (2003). He also appeared uncredited as a trombone player in OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies.
The 2011 film The Artist, directed by Michel Hazanavicius, was dedicated to his memory in its closing credits.
