Biography
Karen deJong is a production designer and art director working primarily in animation. She served as production designer and art director on the animated feature Gnomeo & Juliet (2011). The preproduction design team, based in London, conducted location scouting in gardens around Stratford-upon-Avon to inform the film's environments.
She has worked on other animated features, including as production designer on Sherlock Gnomes (2018) and art director on Ron's Gone Wrong (2021). Earlier credits include matte painting and visual effects roles on films such as The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) and Contact (1997).
