Biography
Karl Lagerfeld was a German fashion designer who also worked as a costume designer for films. Born in Hamburg in 1933, he died in Paris in 2019.
He designed costumes for Babette's Feast (1987), Coup de Torchon (1981) and Maîtresse (1976). Lagerfeld frequently collaborated with actress Stéphane Audran, creating her wardrobes for several films in the 1970s and 1980s, including detailed sketches that covered clothing, accessories and styling.
