Biography
Kay Oyegun is a Nigerian-born American writer, producer and director. She joined the writers' room of the NBC series This Is Us (2016) as a staff writer in its first season and later became a co-executive producer. She made her directorial debut on the series with the 2021 episode "Birth Mother".
Oyegun began her screenwriting career on the OWN series Queen Sugar. She has written and sold feature scripts including Assisted Living to Paramount and adaptations such as On the Come Up. She serves as writer and executive producer on the Apple TV+ miniseries Imperfect Women (2026). Oyegun holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Pittsburgh and an MFA in producing from the University of Southern California.
