Biography
Kay Van Riper was an American screenwriter active in the late 1930s and 1940s. She began her career writing for and performing in radio programmes in the early 1930s before joining Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer as a scenarist in 1937.
Her film credits include several entries in the Andy Hardy series, such as You're Only Young Once (1937), Judge Hardy's Children (1938) and Andy Hardy Gets Spring Fever (1939). She co-wrote the screenplay for the musical Babes in Arms (1939) and contributed to Lady Be Good (1941). She also provided additional dialogue for The Harvey Girls (1946).
Van Riper died on 31 December 1948 in Glendale, California.
