Biography
Kearran Giovanni is an American actress. She was born on 16 December 1981 in Lafayette, Louisiana, and raised in Katy, Texas. She attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston and the University of Cincinnati – College-Conservatory of Music.
Giovanni began her career on Broadway after moving to New York in 2004, appearing in productions including Hugh Jackman: Back on Broadway, Catch Me If You Can, Guys and Dolls, Sweet Charity and Tarzan. She had a recurring role as Dr. Vivian Wright on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live from 2009 to 2012.
In 2012 she joined the main cast of the TNT series Major Crimes as Detective Amy Sykes, a role she played until 2018. She has also appeared in Designated Survivor (2016), Black Lightning (2018), Dynasty (2017), The Resident (2018) and Walker (2021).
