Biography
Kelly Souders is a television writer, producer and director. She joined the staff of Smallville as a writer in its first season in 2001 and contributed numerous episodes, often in collaboration with Brian Peterson. She advanced through the production ranks to become co-showrunner for the later seasons and directed one episode, "Luthor".
Souders co-created and served as showrunner on the National Geographic series The Hot Zone (2019). Her other credits include writing and producing work on Political Animals (2012), Under the Dome (2013), Beauty and the Beast (2012) and 9-1-1: Lone Star. She holds an MFA in screenwriting from the University of Southern California.
