Biography
Kenneth Ascher is an American composer, songwriter, arranger and jazz pianist. Born on 26 October 1944 in Washington, D.C., he has worked across jazz, rock, classical and film genres as a performer, arranger and studio musician.
With Paul Williams he wrote the songs and contributed to the score for The Muppet Movie (1979), including "Rainbow Connection". The pair received Academy Award nominations for Best Original Song and Best Original Score. Ascher also collaborated with Williams on songs for the 1976 film A Star Is Born.
