Biography
Kent Cheng Jak-si is a Hong Kong film and television actor. He was born on 22 May 1951 in Shantou, Guangdong, China, and moved to Hong Kong as a child. He joined a film company in 1972 and began working in television after winning an acting competition at TVB in 1976.
Cheng moved into feature films in the early 1980s. He is a two-time winner of the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Actor, for Why Me? (1985) and The Log (1996). His credits include Once Upon a Time in China (1991) as Porky Wing, Crime Story (1993), The Bodyguard from Beijing (1994), Flash Point (2007), Ip Man 2 (2010), Ip Man 3 (2015), Chasing the Dragon (2017) and Ip Man 4: The Finale (2019).
