Biography
Kolbjörn Knudsen was a Norwegian-born Swedish actor. Born in Bergen in 1897, he trained at Lorensbergsteatern in Gothenburg from 1919 to 1922 and made his stage debut in 1923. He worked at Lorensbergsteatern, Konserthusteatern in Stockholm and Dramaten before returning to Gothenburg, where he was engaged at Göteborgs stadsteater from 1935.
Knudsen appeared in more than thirty films between 1928 and 1963. His screen roles include Knut Aronsson in Ingmar Bergman’s Winter Light (1963). He was also active in theatre initiatives, co-founding the Fästningsspelen festival in Varberg in 1947. He died in Gothenburg in 1967.
