Biography
Krystyna Mikołajewska is a Polish actress. She was born on 6 September 1939 in Pabianice, Poland. She trained at the State College of Ludwik Solski Theatre in Kraków and graduated in 1964.
Her early film roles include Sarah in Jerzy Kawalerowicz's Pharaoh (1966) and Olga in Miklós Jancsó's The Red and the White (1967). She appeared in productions from Poland, Czechoslovakia, the German Democratic Republic, Hungary, the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia. She received a first prize in the 1958 National Competition for Recitation and an award at the San Sebastián Film Festival for her role in the Czechoslovak film Dita Saxová (1968).
Mikołajewska worked in theatre at the Wojciech Bogusławski Theatre in Kalisz, theatres in Wrocław (1966–68), the Old Theatre in Kraków (1968–72) and the National Theatre in Warsaw in the 1980s.
