Biography
Kumkum, also credited as Zaibunnisa Khan, was an Indian actress who appeared in Hindi and Bhojpuri films. She performed in over 100 films from the 1950s to the early 1970s, often in supporting roles and dance sequences.
She is known for her performances as Champa in Mother India (1957) and as Juhi in Pyaasa (1957). Other credits include Naya Daur (1957), Kohinoor (1960), Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere (1960), Son of India (1962), Mr. X in Bombay (1964), Aankhen (1968) and Lalkar (1972). She also starred in early Bhojpuri cinema, including Ganga Maiyya Tohe Piyari Chadhaibo (1963).
Kumkum trained in Kathak dance. She was born in Bihar, India, and died on 28 July 2020 in Mumbai.
