Biography
Kunihiko Mitamura (Japanese: 三田村 邦彦) is a Japanese actor. Born on 22 October 1953 in Niigata Prefecture, he trained with the Seihai theatre troupe after unsuccessful auditions for other groups and made his screen debut in 1979.
He gained prominence through his long-running role as the ornament craftsman Hide in the Hissatsu television series beginning in 1979. Mitamura is also known for his leading performance as Kazuhito Kirishima in the film Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989) and as Ayana's father in Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris (1999). Other notable film credits include Almost Transparent Blue (1979) and W's Tragedy (1984). He has appeared in numerous television dramas and stage productions, and has also worked as a singer.
