Biography
Lance Crouther is an American television writer, producer and actor. He has written for series including Everybody Hates Chris (2005), on which he also received story credit, The Chris Rock Show (1997–1998), Wanda at Large (2003), which he co-created, and History of the World: Part II (2023). His film writing credits include the screenplay for Down to Earth (2001) and Good Hair (2009).
Crouther was born in May 1962 in Chicago, Illinois. He formed the sketch comedy group 'Mary Wong' with Ali LeRoi and attended Lindblom High School. He has also acted, notably starring as the title character in the 2001 film Pootie Tang, and served as head writer on Lopez Tonight (2009–2010). He has received one Primetime Emmy Award and multiple nominations, including a Writers Guild of America nomination for Good Hair.
