Biography
Larry Tucker (1934–2001) was an American film and television writer, producer and occasional actor. He began his career working with humourist Mort Sahl at San Francisco's Hungry i club and later wrote for The Danny Kaye Show.
With Paul Mazursky, Tucker wrote the screenplay for Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1969), for which they received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. The pair also developed and produced the television series The Monkees (1966–1968) and wrote I Love You, Alice B. Toklas! (1968). Tucker acted in several films, including Blast of Silence (1961), Advise and Consent (1962), Shock Corridor (1963) as Pagliacci and Angels Hard as They Come (1971). In the early 1980s he served as executive producer and writer on sitcoms including Mr. Merlin (1981–1982), Teachers Only (1982–1983), Jennifer Slept Here (1983) and Stir Crazy (1985).
Tucker died in 2001 of complications from multiple sclerosis and cancer.
