Biography
Lars Ekborg (1926–1969) was a Swedish actor. He trained at the Royal Dramatic Theatre school in Stockholm and was engaged at Dramaten from 1951 to 1953. He made his film debut in the late 1940s and appeared in more than 40 films.
Ekborg is known for his leading role as Harry Lund in Ingmar Bergman’s Summer with Monika (1953). He later appeared in Bergman’s The Magician (1958) as Simson, and in Docking the Boat (1965) as Kalle. He also worked extensively in theatre revues, radio and television comedy, including hosting Estrad (1967–1968) and appearing in Partaj (1969).
In 1955 he received the Gösta Ekman Prize. He was married to Lola Sjölund from 1951 until his death; their sons Anders Ekborg and Dan Ekborg both became actors.
