Biography

Lau Sai-Wan, also credited as Sai-Wan Lau or Olympic Lau, is a Hong Kong-born production designer and art director. He has worked on numerous films and television series since the late 1980s, often in collaboration with directors including Ang Lee and Jackie Chan.

His credits include art direction on Lust, Caution (2007), for which he received a Golden Horse nomination for Best Art Direction, Xiu Xiu: The Sent-Down Girl (1998) and The Guillotines (2012). He served as production designer on Skiptrace (2016) and received a nomination for Best Art Direction at the Hong Kong Film Awards for The Guillotines. Additional film work encompasses The Bravest (2019) and Sakra (2023).

Lau won the China Film and Television Costume Award for East Wind Rain (2010) and worked as principal art director on the television series The Song of Glory (2020), which received an International Emmy Award.
