Biography
Laura Howard (born Laura Simmons) is an English actress. Born in 1977 in Chiswick, London, she began working in television and theatre in her mid teens.
She is best known for playing Cully Barnaby in the ITV series Midsomer Murders from 1997 to 2011. Her first major role was as Tammy Rokeby in the BBC comedy So Haunt Me (1992–1994). Other television credits include recurring and guest roles in Soldier Soldier, The Bill, Doctors, Casualty, EastEnders, Call the Midwife and Dune: Prophecy (2024), in which she played Duchess Orla Richese.
Howard has appeared in numerous stage productions, including work at the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Donmar Warehouse, Chichester Festival Theatre and premieres of new plays at Theatre Royal Stratford East and HighTide Festival. She has also toured in productions by the English Touring Theatre and for Alan Ayckbourn.
