Biography
Lee Hoi-sang (also credited as Li Hai-Sheng, Lee Hai-Sheng and Lee Hoi-San) was a Hong Kong martial arts film actor and martial artist. Born in Hong Kong on 15 April 1941, he began his career as a martial arts instructor and stunt performer before transitioning to acting in the late 1960s. He appeared in numerous Shaw Brothers and other Hong Kong productions, often in supporting villain or fighter roles.
He is known for his performances in The 36th Chamber of Shaolin (1978) as the Shaolin Justice Officer, Project A (1983), The Young Master (1980), Project A Part II (1987), The Protector (1985) and Disciples of the 36th Chamber (1985). Lee was a Wing Chun practitioner who studied under a disciple of Yip Man and later taught the art. In later decades he took supporting roles in many TVB television dramas. He died in Hong Kong on 9 September 2024.
