Biography
Lee Jong-pil is a South Korean film director and screenwriter, also credited as JP Lee or Jong-pil Lee. He began his career with small acting roles, including as Detective No in The Man from Nowhere (2010).
His directorial debut was Born to Sing (2013), which he also wrote. Subsequent films include The Sound of a Flower (2015), Samjin Company English Class (2020) and Escape (2024). He has received five award nominations, including for best director at the Baeksang Arts Awards for Samjin Company English Class and at the Blue Dragon Film Awards for Escape.
