Biography
Lee Mo-gae is a South Korean cinematographer. He studied photography at Chung-Ang University and completed a master’s degree in film at the Korea National University of Arts. He worked on film crews for projects including Peppermint Candy (2000) before his feature debut as director of photography on A Tale of Two Sisters (2003).
He has collaborated repeatedly with director Kim Jee-woon on The Good, the Bad, the Weird (2008), I Saw the Devil (2010) and later films. Other credits include The Flu (2013), The Battleship Island (2017), Emergency Declaration (2022), Hunt (2022), 12.12: The Day (2023) and Exhuma (2024). He has won awards for cinematography including an Asia Pacific Screen Award for The Good, the Bad, the Weird and multiple Blue Dragon Film Awards.
