Biography
Lelia Goldoni (1936–2023) was an American actress whose career spanned film and television from the late 1940s. She began with uncredited roles in House of Strangers (1949) and We Were Strangers (1949).
Goldoni trained as a dancer with the Lester Horton troupe and studied acting in a workshop run by John Cassavetes. She gained attention for her lead performance in Cassavetes's Shadows (1959), which earned her a BAFTA nomination for Most Promising Newcomer. She received a second BAFTA nomination for her role as Bea in Martin Scorsese's Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974).
Other notable film credits include The Italian Job (1969), The Day of the Locust (1975), and Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), in which she played Katherine Hendley. She also appeared in numerous television series and later taught acting.
