Biography
Leon Gordon, also credited as Leo Gordon Bennett, was an English-born actor, playwright and screenwriter. Born in Brighton, he studied at St John's College and became a leading man with the Boston Repertory Company before writing plays and directing in Australia. He emigrated to the United States and joined MGM in 1930.
Gordon wrote the screenplay for Freaks (1932) and contributed to films including Tarzan and His Mate (1934), Broadway Melody of 1940 (1940) and I Love You Again (1940). He is also known for the play White Cargo, which he later adapted for the screen. He died in Los Angeles in 1960.
