Biography
Leonard Zajączkowski (1902–1979) was a Polish cinematographer, still photographer and occasional actor. He trained at the Kinostudia cinematography school in Warsaw from 1921 and established himself as a leading stills photographer for Polish feature films before the Second World War, operating his own studio in the city.
After the war he worked for the Polish Film Chronicle (Polska Kronika Filmowa), producing newsreel material for over twenty-five years and specialising in subjects related to culture and medicine. He appeared in a supporting role as an ageing newsreel cameraman in Andrzej Wajda’s Man of Marble (1977).
