Biography
Leonie Zykan is a costume designer. She was born on 4 April 1982 in Basel, Switzerland, and trained in fashion design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp from 2003 to 2006, followed by studies at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna until 2009.
She began working in film and television after her studies. Early credits include Hell (2011, as Leonie Leuenberger), for which she received a nomination for the German Film Prize. She has collaborated repeatedly with director Tim Fehlbaum on Tides (2021, also known as The Colony) and September 5 (2024). Other feature credits include First Snow of Summer (2023) and Beyto (2020). She has also designed costumes for several television series and films, and received further nominations for the German Film Prize (Tides) and the Austrian Film Prize.
