Biography
Lev Eliseev (also credited as Lev Yeliseyev or Лев Елисеев) was a Soviet and Russian actor. He graduated from the acting department of the Leningrad Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography in 1957, in the class of B. V. Zon.
From 1957 to 1961 he was an actor at the Riga Youth Theatre. He later worked at Lenconcert (now Petersburg-Concert) from 1961, performing solo programmes of world prose and poetry, and appeared with theatres including 'Experiment' (1989–1991) and the contract troupe of the St Petersburg 'Russian Entreprise' named after Andrey Mironov from 2007. He was awarded the title of Honoured Artist of the RSFSR in 1984.
His film and television credits include Moloch (1999), Taurus (2001), Russian Ark (2002, as Self), Master and Margarita (2005), Hard to Be a God (2013) and The Iron Ivan (2012). He died in St Petersburg on 26 June 2015.
