Biography
Li Xuejian is a Chinese actor. Born on 20 February 1954 in Juye County, Shandong, he trained at the China National Experimental Theater. He began his career in the late 1970s after serving in military art troupes.
He is known for film roles including Uncle Li in The Blue Kite (1994), Liu Sixth Uncle in Shanghai Triad (1995), Ying Zheng in The Emperor and the Assassin (1998), Mr Zhang in Under the Hawthorn Tree (2010), Li Peiji in Back to 1942 (2012), and more recent parts such as Zhou Zhezhi in The Wandering Earth II (2023) and Ji Chang in Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms (2023). On television he played Song Jiang in the 1998 series The Water Margin. Li has won several awards, including Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Awards for Best Actor.
