Biography
Lidiya Kryukova is a Russian costume designer. Born on 14 October 1945 in Leningrad (now St Petersburg), she graduated in 1974 from the V.I. Mukhina Leningrad Higher School of Industrial Art, specialising in textile design. She began her career at Lenfilm as an assistant costume designer.
Kryukova collaborated extensively with director Aleksandr Sokurov on Moloch (1999), Taurus (2001), Russian Ark (2002), The Sun (2005) and Faust (2011). She shared a Nika Award for Best Costume Design for Russian Ark. Other credits include Closeness (2017) and Heart of a Dog (1988). She is an Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation.
