Biography
Lilo Pempeit, also credited as Liselotte Eder, Lieselotte Eder and Liselotte Fassbinder, was a German actress and literary translator. She appeared in numerous films and television productions directed by her son, Rainer Werner Fassbinder.
Her credited roles include Mrs. Münchmeyer in Ali: Fear Eats the Soul (1974) and Frau Ehmke in The Marriage of Maria Braun (1979). She also acted in other Fassbinder works such as Fox and His Friends (1975), In a Year with 13 Moons (1978) and Veronika Voss (1982), typically in supporting parts as neighbours, secretaries or mothers.
Born Liselotte Irmgard Pempeit on 6 October 1922 in Gdańsk, Poland, she died on 7 May 1993 in Munich, Germany. She was additionally known for her German translations of Truman Capote’s early prose.
