Biography
Lizzie Mickery, also credited as Elizabeth Mickery, is a British screenwriter and former actress. Born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, she began her career as an actress in the 1980s and 1990s, with a notable role as Maggie Thorpe in the BBC series Tenko.
Since around 2000 she has worked exclusively as a writer. Her credits include episodes of The Bill, Heartbeat and Pie in the Sky, the miniseries The Ice House (1997) and Messiah (2001) and its sequels, the single dramas Dirty War (2004, co-written with Daniel Percival) and The State Within (2006, also with Percival), and the 2008 adaptation The 39 Steps. She created and wrote the BBC series Paradox (2009).
Mickery later worked in the United States as a writer and producer on series including The Following, Bloodline, Proof and Rogue. She contributed a teleplay to the first season of Snowpiercer (2020) and served as co-executive producer on the series.
