Biography
Lloyd Knechtel (1907–1971) was a Canadian-born cinematographer and special-effects artist who worked in Hollywood from the late 1920s. He contributed to photography and optical effects at studios including RKO and was a member of the American Society of Cinematographers.
His credits include special effects on What Price Hollywood? (1932) and Cimarron (1931), and photography on The Mortal Storm (1940). He also worked on second-unit photography for Rebecca (1940) and served as director of photography on later films such as Wild Youth (1960).
