Biography
Lou Cutell was an American actor. Born in New York City on 6 October 1930, he moved with his family to Los Angeles and studied at the University of California, Los Angeles. He began his career on Broadway in the 1961 musical The Young Abe Lincoln and made his television debut in 1964 on The Dick Van Dyke Show.
Cutell appeared in numerous films and television series over five decades, including Little Big Man (1970) as the Deacon, Young Frankenstein (1974), Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985) as Amazing Larry, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (1989) as Dr Brainard, Seinfeld (1995) as Dr Howard Cooperman, Curb Your Enthusiasm as Leo Funkhouser, Wedding Crashers (2005) and Grey's Anatomy (2015) as Abe. He also wrote for and appeared in stage productions. He died in Los Angeles on 21 November 2021.
