Biography
Louise Emmons (7 January 1858 – 6 March 1935) was an American character actress. She began her screen career in 1914 at an advanced age and appeared in more than sixty films, mostly in small or uncredited roles, until her final appearance in 1935. She was married to Roswell Emmons from 1904 until his death in 1919.
Emmons was frequently cast as elderly women, often in eccentric or antagonistic parts. Her credits include Foolish Wives (1922), The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (1921), The Ten Commandments (1923), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923), The Man Who Laughs (1928), King Kong (1933) and Mark of the Vampire (1935). She played the Gypsy Woman (uncredited) in Tod Browning’s The Unknown (1927).
