Biography
Louise Martini (born Marie-Louise Chiba) was an Austrian actress and radio presenter. She trained at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and began her career in the early 1950s at Viennese theatres including the Kleines Theater im Konzerthaus, the Volkstheater and the Theater in der Josefstadt.
In 1962 she moved to Munich, where she achieved success in the musical Irma la Douce. She appeared in numerous German and Austrian television productions, including episodes of Derrick (as Else Naujocks, Hanna Schenk and Anita Schneider) and Tatort (as Frieda Klumpe). Her film credits include the role of Beata in Deep End (1970). She received awards such as the Goldene Kamera in 1978 and the Goldene Ehrenmedaille der Stadt Wien in 1987. Martini died in Vienna in 2013.
