Biography
Lü Liping is a Chinese actress. Born in Beijing on 3 April 1960, she graduated from the Central Academy of Drama in 1984 and was assigned to the Shanghai Film Studio.
She is known for her performances in The Blue Kite (1993) as Chen Shujuan, Old Well (1987), 24 City (2008) and Under the Hawthorn Tree (2010). She has received awards including the Golden Rooster Award for Best Supporting Actress for Old Well, the Golden Horse Award for Best Actress for City Monkey (2010), and Best Actress at the Tokyo International Film Festival for The Blue Kite. She has also won Flying Apsaras Awards and Golden Eagle Awards.
