Biography
Luana Anders (born Luana Margo Anderson) was an American actress and screenwriter. Born in New York City on 12 May 1938, she died in Mar Vista, Los Angeles, on 21 July 1996.
She began her career in the 1950s working as a bicycle messenger at MGM alongside Jack Nicholson and trained at Jeff Corey's Professional Actors Workshop. Anders appeared in numerous low-budget films directed by Roger Corman, including The Pit and the Pendulum (1961) as Catherine Medina, and in Francis Ford Coppola's Dementia 13 (1963). She played Lisa in Easy Rider (1969) and had roles in films by Robert Altman and Dennis Hopper, as well as several projects with Nicholson such as The Last Detail (1973) as Donna. Anders also worked extensively in television, including an appearance as Julie in the series Bonanza (1959).
She wrote screenplays, including under the pseudonym Margo Blue, and was a lifelong Buddhist.
