Biography
Lucas Schmidt is a German film and television producer. He is co-founder of Studio Zentral, a production company and subsidiary of ZDF Studios based in Berlin.
Before co-founding Studio Zentral in 2020, Schmidt spent twenty years as a commissioning editor at ZDF’s Das kleine Fernsehspiel unit. He also worked as Director of International Originals at Netflix in Amsterdam and studied TV journalism in England and the United States.
His producing credits include Sound of Falling (2025), Familie Braun (2016) and Outside the Box (2015). He has received several awards and nominations for his work, including for Sound of Falling.
