Biography
Lucy Gallardo (born Lucía Elida Cardarelli) was an Argentine-born Mexican actress. She began her career in Argentina with the 1949 films Todo un héroe and Ángeles sin uniforme, then moved to Mexico in 1950. Her first Mexican film was De carne somos (1955).
She appeared in numerous Mexican films, telenovelas and stage productions. Gallardo is known for her role as Lucía de Nóbile in Luis Buñuel’s The Exterminating Angel (1962), opposite her husband, the actor Enrique Rambal. She later worked as a screenwriter for telenovelas and spent her final years in Los Angeles, where she appeared in the 2005 film How the Garcia Girls Spent Their Summer.
