Biography
Lukas Heller (21 July 1930 – 2 November 1988) was a German-born screenwriter. Born in Kiel to a Jewish family, his father was the political philosopher Hermann Heller. He wrote screenplays for several films directed by Robert Aldrich, including What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962), Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte (1964), The Flight of the Phoenix (1965) and The Dirty Dozen (1967).
Heller also wrote the screenplays for Too Late the Hero (1970) and Monte Walsh (1970). With Henry Farrell he received an Edgar Award for the screenplay of Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte. He was the father of the writers Bruno Heller and Zoë Heller.
