Biography
Lynne Marta, also credited as Lynn Marta, was an American actress and singer. Born on 30 October 1945 in Somerville, New Jersey, she began her career in the mid-1960s with appearances on the syndicated variety programme The Lloyd Thaxton Show and guest roles in series including Gidget and The Monkees. She was a regular on the anthology series Love, American Style and appeared in numerous television shows over five decades, among them multiple episodes of Starsky & Hutch, Knight Rider, ER, Charlie’s Angels and Law & Order, as well as soap operas such as Days of Our Lives.
Her film roles included Elma in Joe Kidd (1972) and the Morgan School Teacher in 3 Men and a Little Lady (1990). She is best known for portraying Lulu Warnicker in Footloose (1984). Marta was married to actor Brick Huston from 1968 until their divorce in 1976. She died on 11 January 2024 in Los Angeles.
