Biography
Magne-Håvard Brekke is a Norwegian actor, also credited as Magne Brekke or Magne Håvard Brekke. Born on 1 January 1962, he trained at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in Berlin. From 1989 to 1995 he was a member of the Volksbühne ensemble in Berlin, appearing in productions directed by Frank Castorf, Christoph Marthaler and Andreas Kriegenburg. He later held a position at the Schauspielhaus Bochum and has maintained a long collaboration with director Dimiter Gotscheff and ongoing work with Christoph Marthaler.
Brekke has appeared in numerous international films and television series. His credits include Father of My Children (2009) as Stig Janson, Goodbye First Love (2011) as Lorenz, Sister (2012), 1001 Grams (2014), The Prayer (2018) as Olivier, Overdrive (2017) as Kuhn and Lovers (2021) as Gérant club. He plays Eduard Limonov in The Wizard of the Kremlin (2025). On television he has portrayed Andreas Schnabel in The Bureau (2016–2020).
