Biography
Manmohan Singh is an Indian film director and cinematographer. He has worked extensively as a cinematographer on Hindi films and as a director of Punjabi cinema.
As a cinematographer he collaborated frequently with Yash Chopra and Aditya Chopra on films including Chandni (1989), Lamhe (1991), Darr (1993), Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997) and Mohabbatein (2000). He trained at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune and made his directorial debut with the Hindi film Pehla Pehla Pyar (1994); his first Punjabi film was Jee Aayan Nu (2003).
Singh has received two Filmfare Awards for Best Cinematography, for Chandni and Darr, and a Lifetime Achievement Award at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards in 2019. He was born in Sirsa district, Haryana.
